Mission recently hosted The Campaign for Wool’s Wool School, a competition that gave textile students an opportunity to design limited edition wool jumpers to be sold at top UK retailers.
The Wool School initiative, which started last year, saw fashion, textiles and design students across the country competing to design a wool sweater that will be available in stores nationwide this Autumn to celebrate Wool Week 2013.
More than 100 students from 12 universities entered the competition with each retailer choosing a winner from their assigned university. The prestigious list of retailers and designers included Margaret Howell, Topman, Christopher Raeburn, Folk, Barbour, Brora and Albam.
The campaign united fashion, textiles and design students across the country with each student focusing on this year’s theme of ‘knitwear traditions of the British Isles’ whilst also incorporating the retailer’s brand identity and promoting the use of wool as a fibre.
After extensive deliberations, we are pleased to announce the winners for Wool School 2013. Each of the 13 winning students will have an opportunity to work directly with the retailers design team, where their knitwear design will be developed and manufactured to be available in stores to coincide with UK Wool Week: 14th-20th October 2013.
