Campaign for Wool takes over New York park for Wool Uncovered

September 27, 2012, by jameslacey

Thursday 27th of September, Bryant Park in New York City hosted a very special event. In the middle of the busy Manhattan park, which is two blocks from Grand Central Station, 20 sheep become the centre piece of an exhibition of all things Wool. His Royal Highness, The Prince of Wales, is a patron of Campaign for Wool and the driving factor behind educating the US market on the natural benefits of the material.

Wool Uncovered asked experts from across the globe to showcase their finest produce and skills with this wonderful natural produce. The terrace in front of the park fountain was transformed by brightly colored wool carpets, furniture and a hand crafted bed.

Wool is known to be one of the most environmentally friendly and sustainable fibres in the world, and it was this, coupled with the decline of the sheep population, that stirred the Prince to take action in 2010.
