November 2013 sees Hennessy bring us the latest installment of their iconic “Never Stop, Never Settle” campaign with the introduction of “The Man Who Couldn’t Slow Down” – the story of 1920s speed record chaser Sir Malcolm Campbell. This series of films and print work tells the story of how Campbell set the World land speed record in 1924, but not content with being a one time champion, he went on to set 8 more world land speed records, shattering the 300mph speed barrier in the process.
A 90-second film featuring Campbell returning from one of his legendary speed runs is set to a historic CBC interview recording of Austrian psychiatrist Viktor Frankl. Author of acclaimed memoir, Man’s Search for Meaning, Frankl is heralded as discovering the belief that humans are motivated by the unrelenting need to find meaning in life.
A 60-second version of the film is narrated by iconic lyricist, Nas, well known as one of the most driven hip hop artists in the world. Campbell, Frankl and Nas feature in the campaign because all three embody the “Never stop. Never settle.” ethos in their respective pursuits.
The campaign, deviced by Droga5, also includes print work and behind-the-scenes interviews and digital footage of the shoots.
