American fashion label, rag & bone, will bring a slice of New York cool to London’s King’s Road with their first pop up space at The Shop at Bluebird on May 6th.

Known for their take on functional American work-wear spun with a British twist (both founders are English), the rag & bone pop-up space will reflect the brand’s classic influences and heritage with a contemporary feel. The unique space will house the current SS10 Women’s & Menswear collections, which includes dressed down and layered knits, loose-fitting trousers, narrow jackets and tailored military coats, accessories and denim wear.

FLY53, one of the first UK brands creating intelligent street wear, are looking for somebody to create a live window installation, for their new menswear concession in Hull, House of Fraser.

FLY53’s strong and honest music heritage is still at the forefront of their influences and everyday involvement. FLy53 want one lucky winner to score their style on a blank canvas in the main store window on Saturday the 1st of May 2010. The winner will have 2 hours to create their work as on-lookers watch.

“FLY53 IN HULL” is to be the title of the piece…You have till the 26th April 2010 to send over your proposed design.

The FLY53 design team will select their favorite and this lucky winner will take to the stage in Hull’s House Of Fraser window and work LIVE for all to see! They’ll even kit you out with a new outfit for the show!

Whilst you create your masterpiece, FLY53 will be inviting people to come in and enter a draw to win your finished piece of work! The winner will be announced at the end of the day!
5 lucky runners up will receive a FLY53 Street Uniform worth £150 each, not too shabby either!

The winner will be notified on the 29th April 2010. You will need to be in Hull for 10.30am on the morning of the event. The event will last 2 hours from 11.30am – 1.30pm. The finished piece of artwork will be used for as a prize by FLY53. If the winner is not available for the timings required they will forfeit their prize and FLY53 will choose a new winner. There is no cash alternative. FLY53 will feature all of the entries on their Facebook Page after the event on the 1st May.

The lucky reporters that were finalised for the Nokia X6 Reporter search hit the Snowbombing Festival at Mayrhofen last week, with some of the Mission team. Surrounded by humongous mountains, plenty of snow, amazing DJs and hundreds of people dressed up in ridiculous costumes, they had a fantastic experience. The weather was beautiful, the scenery stunning and the atmosphere electric.

The promoters said Snowbombing is “mythical, musical, without equal” and the reporters were definitely inclined to agree. They got to party in an igloo at the top of the moutain, meet artists such as Friendly Fires, The Whip, DJ Yoda, Example and Benga, and they also tried out snowboarding!

So the X6 reporters have so far been to LA during Oscars week and snowbombing…….their next stop is Spain for the Spanish Grand Prix

On Wednesday 14th April, Le Touserrok, one of the world’s top 5 star deluxe resorts, is launching a bespoke fragrance created by Miller Harris. ‘Cardamon Sucre’ is inspired by the cultural warmth of tropical Mauritius and infuses notes of lemongrass, sweet cardamon and bergamot.

The fragrance will be going in throughout the Le Touessrok resort in summer 2010 as the new toiletries range.

Premier street fashion label FLY53 has appointed Mission Media to implement its communications and marketing strategy moving forward.

Mission will work on the PR and promotion of the current SS/10 collection and coordinate a press launch and brand introduction for the AW/10 collection, to take place early May.

Renowned contemporary retail space b Store launch their first Pop-Up Shop at The Shop at Bluebird on the Kings Road, in collaboration with Post Office, the London-based, multi-disciplinary architectural and interiors design practice whom have been selected to design the intriguing space.

The interactive installation inspired by Spring will feature industrial fans activated by customers upon entering the space. The ‘Spring Breeze’ will blow through the space adding a dynamic dimension to b Store’s latest collections. The back wall of the shop will feature Malouin’s Standard Range, consisting of innovative shelving and light system displaying the b Store’s latest collection of shoes in the most charming and unexpected way

The shop will be open from March 18th till April 18th

The 3rd annual Hop Farm Festival is set to return this July with a spectacular bill of acts including an exclusive UK performance by Bob Dylan. Other acts to grace the stage include Mumford & Sons, Pete Doherty, Seasick Steve and Laura Marling. Other major acts are still to be announced.

The festival itself with take place Saturday July 3rd, with two days of camping within the Hop Farm grounds from Friday 2nd July.
