World famous photographers Weber and Bailey showcase capabilities of Nokia Lumia 1020

Bruce Weber and David Bailey, two of the most respected photographers in the world, have worked together for the first time in a unique project to showcase the incredible imaging capabilities of the new Nokia Lumia 1020. On the 18th July 2013, Weber & Bailey captured over 1000 images in Harlem – showcasing the Nokia Lumia 1020’s imaging capabilities in a contextual and truly human way. It was the first time Weber has photographed in digital.
The pair visited the most iconic sites in Harlem and used the unique capabilities of the Nokia Lumia 1020 and Nokia Camera Grip to bring to life every day street scenes in the famous New York community. These images will be featured in exhibitions scheduled to take place globally this year.
The first exhibition will take place in London at the Nicholls & Clarke Building in Shoreditch between 13-21 September and feature about 60 photos from the campaign.
With 41 megapixels, ZEISS optics, and optimised image stabilization – the Nokia Lumia 1020 establishes a new benchmark in smartphone imaging. It simplifies the controls previously reserved for professionals, and reinvents zoom to help people capture, edit and share better photos with ease
“This is the first time that I have used a mobile phone for my work,” said Bruce Weber. “Nokia has created a smartphone which not only matches the capabilities of many high-end cameras, but in most cases surpasses them. It simplifies creative photography, and I look forward to inspiring others to use the Nokia Lumia 1020.”
“The Nokia Lumia 1020 is another huge leap ahead of the competition,” added David Bailey. “The level of detail you can capture using a Nokia Lumia 1020 is nothing short of breathtaking.
“It’s an honour to have two of the world’s greatest photographers showcase the revolutionary power of Nokia Lumia 1020,” said Mark Newton, VP, Nokia Brand and Marketing Creative, Nokia. “The Nokia Lumia 1020 empowers you to take better photos, and will change the way people shoot, edit and share their lives forever.”
Weber and Bailey spent 24 hours in Harlem in a quest to capture the heart and soul of New York’s vibrant community.
