Mission were tasked to create a stand out campaign that would engage both media and consumers and bring the beauty brand, feelunique.com, to front of mind as people returned to their desks after the Christmas break.
An online survey was commissioned, asking users of the site which celebrity features they most admired and wished for. The results from the survey were used to create the ‘Ultimate Celebrity’ – an actual head, shoulders and face representing the parts the feelunique.com customer had chosen. It was important the ‘Ultimate Celebrity’ looked like a real person and a graphic designer was briefed to create the right image that would engage press.
The campaign image was launched to national media and coverage ran in the Daily Mail, Daily Express, The Sun, Daily Mirror, The Observer, OK!, Hello! and The Times. Broadcast coverage ran on Access Hollywood and ITV’s This Morning, where viewers were invited to give their feedback.
The image went viral, and was shared across the major social platforms, reblogged on Tumblr over one thousand times from one source alone. All sharing and conversation carried #UltimateCelebrity as a tag – retaining the campaign title.
All coverage across both print and online credited the feelunique.com brand – resulting in a 14% increase in traffic and sales.
