Mission was honored to yet again work with the United Nations for World Humanitarian Day and was tasked with assisting in raising awareness for the #HumanitarianHeroes across the globe through a discussion with United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and some of the UN’s very own aid workers at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City.
Mission created a comprehensive campaign that kicked-off by securing HUFFPOST Live as the digital partner for the World Humanitarian Day live panel; MC’d by Alyona Minkovski of HUFFPOST Live. In addition, Mission had the opportunity to work with celebrity house DJ and music producer David Guetta, creating a call-to-action video for the masses and an op-ed placed on EDM online.
Mission generated press by utilizing celebrated UN humanitarians, such as renown “lost boy” child soldier from South Sudan, turned rapper and actor Emmanuel Jal, for opportunities on morning shows and the NASDAQ opening bell ceremony. In addition, Mission secured an interview with Deputy Secretary General Jan Eliasson on Bloomberg to discuss the importance of #HumanitarianHeroes.
?Mission produced the event, managed social outreach and pre-and-post-event press, executing a successful event on August 19th 2014. The event generated buzz across all social streams and resulted in strong media coverage including USA Today, Bloomberg, Huffington Post, Good Day New York, EDM, CNBC and FOX totaling over 3 billion impressions.
