Dockers ‘Flannels for Heroes’ hosts charity cricket match
On Thursday 19th and Friday 20th June, the Dockers team gathered from far and wide for a two-day cricket match to raise funds and awareness for two worthy causes, Walking with the Wounded and Combat Stress. Both charities’ mission statements are centered on helping to improve the lives of service men and women and their families.
On Thursday evening, over 80 guests were hosted at The Orangery at Kensington Palace for an evening of sipping on Californian cocktails and dancing to music from the ‘Great American Songbook’ played by the jazz band from the London Savoy Hotel.
Friday held the main event, with Dockers Flannels for Heroes hosting a day long cricket match at Burton Court. The match itself took place in the grounds of Sir Christopher Wren’s Chelsea Hospital, with guests invited to partake in the excitement or relax at the sidelines.
A notable crowd attended the event with members of the Royal Family and celebrities such as Zara Martin, Hugh Grant and Mitch Hewer enjoying a delicious lunch, afternoon tea and exquisite cocktails. The cricket match was exciting and memorable with the trophy being awarded to the captain of the winning team by Lisa Collier, the President of Global Dockers.
However, the most memorable part was not the runs scored, but rather the scores of funds raised for a noble and important cause. That’s team spirit at its finest.
