Nokia Lumia 630 #100aires pop-up

On Wednesday 2nd July, Nokia gathered fans from far and wide to attend the launch of the Nokia Lumia 630 #100aires pop-up store The pop-up enabled guests to purchase art pieces – not with cash but based on their social currency.

The #100aires pop-up was a retail experiment by Microsoft, in celebration of the new Lumia 630 smartphone. Located at The Old Truman Brewery in East London, the store ran from Thursday 3rd – Sunday 6th July 2014, supporting upcoming art students who use their creativity to make a difference with their passions and connections – these individuals are #100aires.

100 art pieces were on display, having been valued and priced in social currency by Klout. Visitors were then able to bid on items based on their Klout score. Using social media analysis, Klout is a platform that analyses users social channels to present them with an overall score based on their social media influence.

Potential buyers were asked to share images of their favourite art pieces on social media platforms, using the #100aires hashtag. The shared images were then collated onto the #100aires tumblr page, enabling buyers to track their bids. At the close of the pop-up, winners were contacted via twitter and invited to take home their chosen art piece.
