lululemon presents the ‘Serpentine Summer Sunset’ at the Serpentine Pavilion

On the evening of Wednesday 20th August, yoga lovers from London and beyond descended on the Serpentine Pavilion in Kensington Gardens as lululemon athletica took their outdoor practice to a new level.
A salute to the Summer Sunset, over 300 yoga enthusiasts gathered at the Serpentine Pavilion in Hyde Park to be a part of the mass yoga class. The class commenced with a tribute to the life of ‘the father of modern yoga’ B.K.S Iyengar, who had passed away that morning aged 95. Performing downward dogs to calming harp music, the Serpentine Summer Sunset felt a world away from the hustle and bustle of central London.
After the hour-long alfresco session had come to a finish, attendees were invited into the Serpentine Gallery for drinks and canapés to reward them for their mid-week workout. Sipping a well-deserved glass of prosecco whilst dancing along to live 5-piece band, London Essentials, guests mingled in the midst of the enchanting Serpentine Pavilion.
Following suit from Chilean designer, Smiljan Radic’s original inspiration for the Serpentine Pavilion, lululemon followed the theme of Oscar Wilde’s ‘The Selfish Giant’ and hung peach flavoured lollipops on the trees around the Serpentine Pavilion. Guests were invited to exchange hand written intentions for peach lollipops at the end of the evening. Thoroughly nourished, in mind, body and soul, lululemon’s yoga enthusiasts exited into the night carrying lululemon goodie bags and an reignited passion for #thesweatlife.
The lululemon Summer Serpentine Event was the second of it’s kind to take place in London, with ‘The Movement’ taking place in Covent Garden Opera House in March. In keeping with the brand mantra, lululemon athletica will continue to embrace the yoga community as the brand takes over London.
