On Monday night, Krug hosted the annual Krug Mind Share auction at Sotheby’s, London, auctioning the world’s greatest Minds from the fields of business, politics, art and entertainment.
This project brought together individuals who, through a quest for excellence, ambition and often a maverick spirit ahve succeeded in their given field – the very triats that drove Joseph Krug when he started Krug champagne in 1843.
This year, Minds have generously given up one of their most treasured resources, their time, for 100% of the auction proceeds to be donated to their charity of choice.
Carphone Warehouse owner, David Ross bought Nick for £7k and Kevin Spacey and Lord Peter Mandelson for £9k each, with the proceeds going to Cancer Research UK, The Roundhouse and The Old Vic Trust. Chef Marco Pierre White was bought for £8k and designer Anya Hindmarch was bought for £7k. Other Minds that were auctioned on the night were Sir Stuart Rose, Dinos Chapman, Lord Bell, Michael Eavis and Sachin Tendulka.
